As curator of "La Bodega", my vision is to transform this project into a path of artistic discovery, using recycling and reuse. Starting from the vision of a man who found beauty in the discarded, "La Bodega" ventures to create art, music and literature from what is often considered trash. This initiative is more than an exhibition of recycled objects; it is a vibrant story of change and rediscovery.
We unfolded "La Bodega" through videos, showcasing the creative potential of forgotten objects. These videos offer insight into the project, demonstrating the fusion of community involvement and art to reinvent the unwanted.
Each piece of waste in La Bodega represents the resilience and beauty inherent in everyday objects. This project is a tribute to my father's legacy and an invitation for viewers to see the invisible and join in a creative conversation. My goal is for La Bodega to move beyond being an exhibition and become a cultural center that symbolizes both sustainability and artistic transformation.

BIO
Pepe García
percussionist, musical curator and community promoter
With a dynamic career spanning several continents, Netherlands-based Pepe García is known for his innovative approach to percussion and music management. He specializes in interdisciplinary collaborations and works closely with composers, artists and performers to create new and exciting pieces.
Pepe has composed music for six contemporary dance productions, including projects with Club Guy and Roni and Tzeni Argyriou. Member of the New European Ensemble and Artistic Coordinator of the prestigious group Hiiit (formerly Slagwerk Den Haag), he has toured Europe, America, the Middle East and Asia.
His commitment to social and community work is evident in his role as co-founder of the Sonoro Foundation, focused on crime prevention in Mexico, and as a community trainer with Musicians Without Borders in El Salvador.
In his artistic role at Hiiit, Pepe has been instrumental in programming and community engagement in The Hague, fusing urban art and contemporary music into unique community-based projects. He is also a respected professor at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague.
Pepe's latest project, "Lab Bodega", shows his passion for sustainability and art, transforming recycled materials into artistic expressions. This project is not just an exhibition; is a cultural movement that symbolizes the fusion of sustainability and artistic reinvention.
